In a recent survey conducted by Auto Trader magazine, over 2,000 drivers said that rap music effects their mood while they are driving. According to the study, drivers who listen to music by artists such as Jay-Z, Eminem, Dizzie Rascal and others are more prone to have a car accident.

Almost one in five driver's claimed that hip-hop music put's them in a more aggresive mood while they are driving. Only about six percent of the driver's who took part in the study said that rap music relaxes them while they drive.

Neil Greg who is the director of policy and research at The Road Safety Charity for The Institute of Advanced Motorists had this to say in a statement.

“We all know the drivers who play loud, pounding rap music where you can hear the ground shake before they arrive. Police crash investigation reports do not say what music people were listening to before an accident, so it comes down to self-reporting, opinion research."

He continued his statement by saying...

“If people recognise within themselves that they were listening to a certain type of music when they had road rage problems or crashes, it would be worth them considering changing the music."

"But if you listen to rap music in the car, you are most likely to be young and male and unfortunately that is the target group leastlikely to listen to road safety advice.”
