Just when things were begining to look up for rapper Shyne, a monkey wrench was thrown into his prison release. The rapper who served nine years in prison for a shooting incident in 1999, was supposed to be released from prison today (October 6th). But after what started out as a smooth day and an easy release, the rapper most known for his Biggie Smalls like voice, has seen a setback in his release.
After making it all the way to his release date, and probably awaking this morning with the idea of being a free man by early afternoon, Shyne's prison release is now under review according to information that one of his representatives informed to MTV News.
"Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined,"
The news was then backed up when Shyne's lawyer informed MTV that his client had not yet been released from prison despite numerous media reports.
Over the years there have been many rumors about Shyne and his release date. At one point, it seemed that every year it was rumored that he would be released. One year in particular, a rumor spread that his father was going to have him pardoned by the United States Government, but none of these rumors ever came to fruition.
While the courts try to get everything in order, the incarcerated rapper is being held under the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State.
It is still trying to be determined whether or not to deport the rapper back to his home country Belize.

My girls father has a lawyer and he was the president/cofounder of a prestigeous company and everything. But they said he didn’t have the rights to all this shit cuz technically he’s not supposed to be here.So for a while they told him he couldn’t speak with his lawyer.
We’re petitioning right now to get him out or at least speed up the process so they will stop holding him there and make a fucking decision. cuz he’s been here(in the country) for years and never committed a crime,Not so much as a fucking speeding ticket, it just took forever to get his citizenship(which he still doesn’t have).<—-fucked up system.smh
