[Rumor] Dj Big Mike Nabbed By The Feds For Mixtapes?
by on July 1st, 2009
Looks like Federal Authorities have nabbed yet another high profiled Dj.
According to reports, Dj Big Mike, real name Mike Wilcox, had his home raided on May 29th by the feds.
Though details are scarce, the raid reportedly uncovered over $200,000 in cash and over 15,000 mix cd's.
Willcox arrived at his home at 25 E.Pearl St,Danbury, CT. to find Federal And Local Officers inside his home.
Some are speculating DJ Big Mike had to cut a deal with the R.I.A.A. to lessen his charges from piracy and tax evasion to just tax evasion.
In early 2007, Atlanta Djs, Dj Drama & Don Cannon, were arrested after R.I.A.A. members raided their place of business for illegally distributing and selling mixtapes via their Gangsta Grillz website.
The raid dealt what came as a major and surprising blow to the Mixtape industry, which is the premier medium for artists and Djs to reach the masses. Many mixtape dealers were forced to shutdown while some changed their format completely.

hmmm I don’t really care about Big Mike. I mean all of those DJ’s don’t really do anything but take other peoples work and get recognized for it. Being a blend DJ I know that.
mixtapes are fucked up nowadays cuz dj’s take existing material, remix the shit and put it out again. a lot of it is recycled shit but it still is a means for up and comming artists to expose themselves to the masses. i think mixtapes will be around for a while to come.
on some real shyt this is all the gov doing they see niggas getting money and want a peace, they wait till u get ya paper right so they can run up in the spot and take everything," like the weed or crack spot", then they pressure you into giving up other niggas doing the same shyt.. REAL TALK!
