Royce Hits 111 With 4,600, While Hov Still Soars In The Top 5
by on October 28th, 2009
Detroit Lyricist, and one quarter of the supergroup Slaughterhouse, Royce Da 5'9 saw his third album "Street Hop" hit the Billboard charts.
Despite a huge underground buzz the album debut with only 4,600 copies in its first week.
The album which debut last week was packed with collaborations including features from Bun B, Busta Rhymes, Phonte from Little Brother, and of course the members of Slaughterhouse.
Meanwhile Jay-Z just wont let go of his grip on the top five albums. He finishes this week up at number 4 with 42,800 units sold. At this moment he has the highest charted album of all rappers with a released project at number 4.
Jay-Z continued to lead the rap pack at the top of the charts. He has now sold a total of 1,159,300 records.
Drake is still making noise with his EP "So Far Gone" landing at no. 23 this week with a total of 197,300 copies sold, while Bronx rapper Fat Joe's album JOSE has fallen from the charts completely.

carter 3 hot? nope…
deeper than rap hot? nope [didnt do great numbers but was #1]
BP3 hot? nope [selling off his name shit sounds like a pop artists album]
slaughterhouse album hot? yes weak sells
relapse hot album? yes high sells
Jay sold off his name and to me only about half of the joints were good on it the rest were so so. Deeper Than Rap came out a lil after The Last Kiss and Deeper Than Rap was typical Ross same coke tales when niggas already knew about his CO past lol. Slaughterhouse album is prolly the best album lyrically off this year and it aint sell that much. Relapse is underrated too and sold off of Eminem’s name alone but still had some of the illest material i’ve heard in awhile from him like Must Be The Ganaja (Second Verse is ill).
Fans dictate what sells and what doesn’t and the shit sucks. Most people want that radio pop shit and then when they get the album they front like its hot when usually the single is the hottest shit on there lol. But Im not hating though, it is what it is. All I can do is listen to the music that is raw and creative and support the artist.
I dont like Venus Vs. Mars, the Drake joint, and the Jeezy joint is….okay, but the rest of the album is nice. I’m in no way calling it a classic but it’s collectively a good album. My unbias opinion, I rate it like a 7.3.
