Rev Run Sends Shoes To Sudan

by reign on November 17th, 2008

In some GOOD hip-hop news.......

http://media.defsounds.com/uploads/assets/1528/1552/11420/asset.jpgReverend Run, from the legendary group Run-D.M.C., has teamed up with Soles4Souls in an effort to help the disadvantaged that live in the war torn area of Sudan. Millions of people have been displaced by war and genocide in the Darfur region of the battered country.

Run, real name Joseph Simmons, recently hosted a fundraising event in New York where guests were encouraged to bring shoes that good cause Soles4Souls could send to the country. He also is getting his own shoe firm RunAthletic involved, by launching a shoe design contest, to raise money for the cause.
