Detroit MC Eminem has crash landed on the charts with a vengeance. His latest LP,"Relapse," has debuted at number 1 world wide selling nearly 900,000 units.
According to Hits Daily Double, "Relapse" debuted at number 1 in the US with 601,000 units sold during its first week of release.
Across the pond, "Relapse" managed to move 260,967 also landing at number 1 on the U.K. Charts.
"Relapse" is Em's fifth album in a row to top the U.K. & U.S. charts, a run dating back to "The Marshall Mathers LP" in 2000.

Numbers don’t mean anything in Hip-Hop. The numbers Wayne got were because of the insane amount of Scoop208’s, True Lil Wayne fans don’t respect what he is doing. I used to be one of them, now I almost can’t stand him.
I bought Relapse and have been bumping it pretty much non stop since it leaked. This is definitely a good album, and all of you people that are too blind to see that because the accent he uses in a couple songs, I’m sorry you will never truely appreciate his album… because its a good one!

Now for the example, within the said year (2000) Lil’ Wayne released, “Lights Out”. Since the release to this day, the album sold approximately 550,000 albums. Now I can sit here and do a comparison of the next few albums (record sale wise, but I hope you guys are smart enough to realize what I’m tryin’ to do. Which is a LOOOOOOONNNNGGG stretch). But I’ll do a quick wrap up for the last few albums. 2002; 500 Degreez(850,000) v. The Eminem Show(9.75million). 2004; Tha Carter(1.2million) v. Encore(5.1million)…
I hope anybody with half of a brain can see that between 2000 and 2004, how much rap has changed, and in 2007 it takes full effect and its clear that rap has made a full blown transformation to what it is now.

First, don’t bring up Wayne. You like him? Cool. I think he’s f**king terrible. Honestly, TERRIBLE. There isn’t a word in the English language to describe my disgust for the dude. Half the time his lyrics make no-fucking-sense while the rest of the time he eats his words with his appraised “swag”. Secondly, Eminem has been gone for about 5 years. 4 of which was spent in limbo between his personal shit and the other year was spent making the album. He just sold 900k world-wide. That’s fucking amazing, ESPECIALLY considering his album got LEAKED a month before the release.

I do not think Eminem and Wayne are the same style of rapper, but thats the best part. They have the opportunity to learn from each other and produce great music to both become better artists.
