Papoose Reportedly Sparked Gang War In New York Jail
by on July 13th, 2009
Brooklyn rapper Papoose is being held responsible for a 2006 gang war at New York's Rikers Island.
According to the New York Post, city jail officials are investigating a rap concert they say triggered months of bloody gang violence.
The concert, in which Papoose performed for nearly two hours, sparked eight slashings and stabbings at the George Motchan Detention Center in the subsequent months, when Papoose's jailed rival, Dough Boy, ordered attacks on the rapper's imprisoned associates.
Pap and Dough Boy have been at opposite ends after Dough Boy accused Papoose of ostracizing him in the studio.
He told The Post he retaliated by shooting at the rapper's entourage and stealing a $40,000 gold chain from a Papoose relative.
"I heard he gave a shout-out to me at the end," said Dough Boy, who had been barred from the show by jail officials aware of their feud.
In response to the onstage taunt, Dough Boy said he instructed his friends to "get at 'em."
Dough Boy is currently serving 12 years for armed robbery and assault.

He really be puttin in work
Sad he aint puttin out no album though
~im so pillsbury toaster strudels blueberry flavor!
Pap needs to put out a fucking album, i ain’t reading anything more about him til the words ‘Papoose’ ‘album’ and ‘release date’ are in the title.
pitiful.
Ok..isnt that the problem?…are you really equating the strength of the culture by streets(who in large, dont purchase albums..the streets like the bootleg copy) and the internet (where damn near all of the music can be found for free)?
with all due respect..doesnt that make your logic part of the problem?
This is why i say the culture(not just the music apsect of it) is dying! we are always satisfied with beef and free shit! We talk about these streets when, 95% of these kids online, have no CLUE what streets mean! While we are talking that ‘street’ shit, the artist like papoose, suffer..because we are keeping it so street that we wait till a new song cmes out for free instead of buying it!
You are correct…papoose’ law library edition is one of the greatest installments in hip hop history, but lets not sit here and act like rap is vibrant! Rap is about beef, gimmicks..and fans that just dont get it. real talk.
i still propped you tho’…at least you speak your mind without soundin like a fukin kid..
one.
