New York City's finest will be kicking up security measures at this years Family Day as 50 Cent readies to put on a not-so-secret show.
The event is expected to draw around 10,000 local residents to the Jamaica, Queens neighborhood, where Fif grew up and was nearly fatally shot in 2000.
But the planned appearance has sparked concerns from local authorities, who have recruited an "army of cops" to shut down the area, fearing violence will break out if a shooter takes aim at 50, reports the New York Post.
"Someone's gonna try to make a name for themselves. They're gonna take a shot at him and they're either gonna hit him or they're gonna miss him and hit some poor, innocent kid or grandmother." An insider tells the Post.
"We can't control the area. (It's) an outdoor event - people could walk in from anywhere," said an officer.
Fif is also set to bus hundreds of children from his former neighborhood to Six Flags Great Adventures a day before Family Day.
Fif will be taking the stage Aug. 29 at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, with money raised benefiting The G-Unity Foundation, which provides grants to non-profit organizations that focus on improving the quality of life for low-income communities.

Now, i read where a few cats on DS are sayin they hope someone ‘gets’ fif(that was in paraphrase) There are only two kind of people that wish for the death of someone they dont know. The underaged, underdeveloped fan so consumed with hate for a stranger, that they actually forget that this is entertainment, and they also forget that they WISH they could be doing what that artist is doing. the other type is a thug wannabe, who would like to see a person get shot in front of a bunch of kids! Both these types are people who most likely live out their thug fantasies on line, and both these types are the main reason hip hop is so fuked up!! Anybody who could co-sign someone getting shot in front of kids and families, shouldnt even be allowed to have an opinion.
my only thing is, yeah 50 has turned his whole persona to a “beef over product person” but niggas still forget at the end of the day he’s still just a man.
