It looks like the Nas/Kelis split is about to take an ugly turn.
Late last month, the couple of four years parted ways after Kelis, who is expecting her first child with Nas, filed for divorce.
Kelis cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and asked for spousal and child support, as well as joint custody of their baby.
She also asked that Nas pay for her lawyer fees during the divorce. However, Nas isn't all that willing to pay for the aforementioned fees.
According to TMZ, not only does Nas not want to pay for his ex’s attorney, but he doesn’t want to fork over any money for spousal support either.
Nas filed his response to the divorce papers and asked the judge to deny Kelis the spousal support she's seeking.
Kelis is unable to work due to her pregnancy. Nas & Kelis tied the knot on Jan. 8, 2005, in Atlanta after a two-year engagement.

Why wouldn’t Kelis ask for half? She is going to be home (most likely) raising their child. While Nas is working and running around the world, she is probably going to take the majority of responsibility in feeding, changing diapers, teaching, doctor’s visits, etc. Child rearing is not easy. So I don’t understand where this “Kelis isn’t right” jargon comes from. Sexism?

No one intends a divorce as soon as they marry; divorce is unexpected. However, it is a probability. Nas knows that. I don’t know wtf he is fighting for now when he knew the legal implications of not signing a prenuptial agreement.
