Nas And Kelis Back In Court

Despite news of a reconciliation between the seperated couple, according to TMZ, Queens MC Nas has "filed a legal bid to prevent Kelis from receiving any spousal support payments".

Just a few months ago the two were in a heated court battle, which Kelis won soon after their son was born. At the time Nas was ordered to pay $55,000 a month in spousal and child support by a New York Judge, soon after the court order, rumors began to surface of the seperated spouses reuniting.

Now it is being reported that Nas is trying to lower the payments, so that he will only have to provide for his new born son.

He filed papers on Monday, November 2nd in an attempt to stop the payments he owes Kelis and their son, as well as seeking joint custody of the child.

Nas' financial troubles dont end there. The IRS filed a Tax Lien against the rapper alledging that he owes the government $2,584,206.31 in unpaid taxes and income earned between the year of 2006-7.

"A tax lien is a lien imposed by law on a property to secure the payment of taxes. A tax lien can be imposed as a result of failure to pay income taxes or other taxes."

man Nas didn’t you know its cheaper to keeper her, and why do rappers have such a hard time payin they damn taxes, Uncle Sam is always gonna get his, he should have learned this lesson from a whole other gang of rappers who went through the same thing. Rappers make too much money to lose it this way.

how many albums would he have to make to cover the bill 4 or 5 plus doing a tour?
I wonder how many cents he get per unit cause 2.5mill is alot for a person who drops an album 1every 2years(not even).

Nas is to good of an artist to be going through this.Hes taking alot of loses right now.

How you think they make money? Just by rapping or by fans buying cd’s and go see them on tours? True, i want the album, but it also helps him makes money, so we help him by support of his projects.
