Lupe dropped 2 albums that are wayyy better than Lloyd Banks’ albums…In my opinion The Cool is a classic in terms of theme,lyricism and production…And least importantly Lupe got a grammy…Something which a G Unit member doesn’t have

Lupe Fiasco’s lyrics and his vision for his music will be timeless. Since 2006 his lyrics reached an intersting level in hip hop that I thought I would never hear. Don’t get me wrong… I listen to and analyze all of Mos Def, DOOM’s, Elzhi, Blackthought, Jay Electronica,Jay-Z, Nas, Blu, Big Pun, Canibus, Common, Talib Kweli, Royce Da 5’9, Slick Rick, Scarface,(and the most underrated MC alive Jean Grae), just to mention a few. But Lupe’s mind and perspective on words and wordplay is unparalleled. Lyrically only Mos Def and DOOM can match his versatility in respect to their own styles. Lupe’s delivery is the best in the business, his vocab caliber is not “scientific Canibus” because those are not the means of his writing style but I bet if he chose to do so he could, social awareness is an anchor and fuel of his drive, writing formats such as poetry, he can dissect a line, he can make haikus and limericks hide in his words, his writing scheme is 100 dimensions above anyone. Just listen to “Dumb it Down” and how he inputs the “Three Wise Monkeys” proverb into his writing(the last verse is wickedly mad!!!). Or download “Blackout” and try to figure out what the hell he is talking about. Look… I can talk all day about Lupe simple and plain he is and will be (mark my words) the bar and ruler into which we compare “real lyricist” and writers in the genre of hip-hop. Lupe should of existed in the 60’s or 70’s with the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and maybe then the world would appreciate his “vision” and scholarly mind. just sad to see some people just slew lupe ……i hope one day you realise just how good he actually is but i guess everyone has taste. one final word …….LASERS!
