Lil Wayne's Manager Fires Backt At Bahamas Promoters
by on July 15th, 2009
Lil Wayne's manager has fired back at accusations that the New Orleans rapper was too intoxicated to perform a concert in the Bahamas.
As we previously reported, Weezy's facing legal action from Red City Entertainment amid allegations he was too drunk to perform at a gig in Nassau on September 27, 2008.
According to the lawsuit, bosses at the promotions company claim police were called to search for the star when he failed to turn up and found him passed out in his hotel room.
They are suing for $432,000 in compensation to cover his advance payment and the cost of setting up the show.
Cortez Bryant, Weezy's manager, says that account is completely inaccurate.
According to Bryant, the concert was originally scheduled for September 26 but had to be pushed back when promoters failed to come up with the rapper's full payment.
"Our show was set for September 26th last year. We arrived on time, ready to perform and learned that due to lack of payment from the promoters, the sound company they had hired packed up and left the venue before Wayne was scheduled to hit the stage.
So they were forced to cancel the show. On those grounds, at that moment, they were in breach of contract and forfeited their deposit."
The two parties reportedly agreed to reschedule the show however, Wayne and his crew faced further issues with the set-up of the venue a second time around.
"Wayne... said he would do it if the promoters had everything right, based on our contract. I then told the promoters... (that) if, and only if, there were no problems at the venue, then he would take the stage.
When I arrived at the venue, the security was horrible, causing it to be an unsafe environment and the sound system wasn't up to our contracted standard.
"I then told the promoters Wayne wasn't coming because they didn't have their setup to a contracted standard for the second night in a row."

wayne does have a point if the people didnt do what was on the contract.
still new we will see who was right or parshly when this is settled, droped or is concluded by a judge.
EITHER WAY WAYNE IS ONE RICH DUDE,$200,000 AND THAT WAS ONLY THE DEPOSIT…….WOW.
