Lil Wayne Sued for $432K After Being 'Too Drunk' To Perform, Cash Money Lawsuit Against Dj Drama Dropped
by on July 13th, 2009
New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne is once again being sued by a promoter for being a no-show.
Weezy is facing fresh embarrassment in a lawsuit over a missed gig in the Bahamas - promoters of the show allege he was too drunk to take the stage.
The Lollipop hitmaker was hired by Red City Entertainment and given a $210,000 advance to perform for 5,500 fans in Nassau last September (08).
When he didn't show for the concert, police were called in and allegedly found the star passed out in his hotel room.
"This was targeted as a showcase for Lil' Wayne," said Glenn Gitomer, a lawyer for the New Jersey promotions company.
"Then police found him intoxicated in his hotel room...It was a great expense just to accommodate him."
Cash Money Lawsuit Against Dj Drama Dropped
In related news, a federal judge dropped a copyright infringement case filed by Cash Money Records against DJ Drama.
As we previously reported, the suit filed at The United States South District Court Of New York named BCD Music Group Inc., Deep Distribution World Wide Inc., Tyree C. Simmons b/k/a Dj Drama, Cinque Productions Inc., Aphilliates Music Group, Making Moves Entertainment, & Frank Nino.
Cash Money Records sued for owed royalties from five mixtapes. "Happy Father's Day," "When The North & South Collide," "Dedication Chopped & Screwed,""Dedication 2," & "Dedication 3."
Saying it was simply a matter of "business," DJ Drama recently talked about the lawsuit.
"If anybody looks at the paperwork, they'll see it's just more than DJ Drama and Lil Wayne," Drama said.
"It's other parties involved and what have you. I knew that from the top. When it broke, those guys Makin Moves Entertainment and they are deejays who were also served, they had their feelings on the situation, shout-out to them. I have no type of negative things to say about them, they went about it in a way that they felt was necessary for them...
Me and Wayne have had a rocky road at times but it's bigger than DJ Drama and Lil Wayne and that's the thing I wanted to get across even with my first statement.
I've spoken to Baby since then, we've got on the phone, with the e-mail and me and him will moved forward with the situation.
Now it's to the point there's attorneys involved and legal matters so now it's not as cut and dry as me and Baby saying 'Okay cool, it's over.' I don't have anything negative to say about those guys. Shout-out to Cash Money, shout-out to Wayne, Baby...It's business. I did a lot for Lil Wayne's career. Wayne did a lot for my career."
The judge dropped the suit saying Cash Money failed to state any course of action however, Cash Money has until September 19th to re-file their complaint.

~be weezy everybody, just be weezy
When will these Suppose to be Hip Hop Websites be more realistic.
That lawsuit was between the CD distribution Company and Cash Money. DJ Drama was named because he used that Company. That’s why Drama ain’t trippin, because it wasn’t about him.
ITS NOT LIKE THIS IS A CLUB IN MIAMI AND THERE IS TRAFFIC AND DISTRACTION.
YOU WERE IN BAHAMAS WHERE YOU DO NOT LIVE,WHAT COULD HAVE SO MUCH IMPORTANT FOR HIM NOT TO DO IT?
mostly they will settle out of court but in my opinion the club owners are right and they need to get their cash back.
kings thoughts
fuckin ridiculous..
weezy is the greatest everybody else just sucks
-do the “doo”
Redneck Gangsta=Santa Claus in the malls during Christmas.
chalieboy and marquissade neither of you will never win because neither of u will give up.
Lol when did me and chalie ever compete? He offers no substance in his posts. Just hate, dickriding and co-signing.
His camp is fall-offs too… why did the officials have to find him and wake him up? They pay a guy to walk around and hold his fucking syrup cup but they too dumb to pay a gay to make sure his business affairs are in order.
[THIS IS FROM SOMEONE WHO WAS PRESENT nice try tho haters, he makes mistakes and SCREWS UP majorly but lets try to bash him when he actually screws up big seeing as he gets hated regardless]
Personal opinion; he should’ve still showed up, regardless of tha blind hate towards dude, he is loved and many many people pay heavily to see him and thas a fact, BUT I am not Wayne, I don’t have haters, media, lawyers, last year lawsuits, shady promoters, ignorant bloggers, and parents mad bcuz they’re kids dressin like me on my mind all day either. Dude gets plagued by tha BAD and tha GOOD, so if tha stuff wasn’t ironed out or legit then hey thas him to say sorry, but thas where someone that still loves entertaining just to entertain says I’d go at any chance I could get, where a megastar obviously has a different outlook or aspect in this situation. Damn can we keep tha negative news at least 1-2 months current, shady promoters saw others got back pay and trying to do tha same thing; LAME
2 FINGERS
People wondering how this is possible and why would he do this or know he was performing and still do whatever; well this should tell you there’s more to tha story, but nobody ever cares when it’s Wayne, F him his music sucks, F him he sucks, and people wonder why he be like F it sometimes. Don’t make it right, but he human as much as he say he an Alien LOL. Its lose-lose tho, for every person he prove wrong there’s a new one saying just wait he’ll mess up, but its his fault Aliens are perfect. SMH
Why is it ok for people to target people but when people present some facts people wanna say stop di*k riding, so again proves tha fact its okay to HATE EVEN IF ITS BLATANT LYING but its not okay to see what really went down (super SMH) Like I said Wayne will screw up and be in tha news for some more dumb sh*t, and people will be like now what you gon say, but damn can we wait for that day
