New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne who's having one of the best years of his career will lead the way in nominations at this years BET Hip Hop Awards.
The "A Millie," hitmaker has been nominated for twelve BET Hip Hop Awards including Lyricist Of The Year, CD Of The Year, and MVP Of The Year.
Fellow hitmaker Kanye West follows the pack with 7 nods and Jay-Z stands closely behind with 6 nods.
The BET Hip Hop Awards, which will be hosted by comedian, Katt Williams, will take place at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on Saturday, October 18 and air on BET, Thursday, October 23 at 8:00pm.
As Weezy prepares for the awards next month, he's also currently working on the Dedication 3 mixtape with Dj Drama. The Cash Money frontman hopes to showcase his current Young Money Label roster on the Gangsta Grillz mixtape.

In related news, Lil Wayne's ongoing Gun Case hearing has been rescheduled for October.
According to reports, during a pretrial hearing last week, the arresting officer, Diane Hornung, claimed she entered Wayne’s tour bus after smelling marijuana and found Weezy, trying to conceal a loaded .40 caliber handgun.
Wayne's lawyer, Stacey Richman, denounced the claims citing Hornung was nowhere near the bus at the time of the arrest as stated in court documents.
Richman hopes to prove that authorities boarded Wayne's tour bus without probable cause thus leading the charges to be tossed out.

2nd, lil wayne in no way deserves best lyricist, even when he was a good ass rapper (around dedication 2) he wasnt a great lyricist. but hey its his year n the point of being a sellout is to win these awards so good for u fuckin homo.
and i got really excited when i read that about dedication 3 but i realized its gonna b the same annoying bullshit rap hes been putting out all year. plus hes gonna put all his wack ass boys on all the songs so basically id rather go buy fuckin plies album or gucci mane. i hope someone shoots him.
