i just noticed how versatile was Em with his flow on this one..

there’s some singing – 4 bars
some random flow – 10 bars
a lil bit of flow that reminds on “forever” – 2 bars
and then there’s a flow from “evil deeds” – 4 bars

and the lyrics were great..

lupe’s a great rapper and a great lyricist but a lot of the time his flow is whats hot and not the things he says…he has a crazy vocab and does go hard on some tracks but he doesnt really go in on every song like em does…em always says somethin hot or somethin to make you die laughing..i was a little disappointed with the enemy of the state mixtape to tell you the truth cuz the flow was what was so hot about most of the songs not the lyrics…rhyme scheme was complex but that doesnt mean shit if what your sayin isnt that hot

Yeah if anything Lupe’s flow is off compared to his usual tracks. The lyrics are what makes enemy of the state so good. I’m not saying Lupe’s flow sucks on that, it’s good… just different than his usual sorta.

Lupe and Em are my favorite rappers. I’d say Lupe is more consistent but Em has the lyrics that will be quoted forever type (Like someone already mentioned, the same may go for Lupe if dumb listeners smarten up a bit haha)

As far as whose better in my book, I’m waiting for both their new albums to drop to decide, right now their tied IMO. Lupe hasn’t put out ANYTHING whack and I like Encore more than a lot of people but it’s safe to say that its not up to par with the rest (Em has 2 more material out which sorta evens the slate a bit though).

I understand justus. I have my times when I think pac or big were better, but as a whole, I dont think either compare honestly. Em is just on another level than anything I’ve ever heard, and yes Im white, but I also think royce da 5’9 is one of the few artist even on em’s level. I appreciate lupe but I dont see anything special besides his punch lines and creative thought. But as soon as I start doubting em, he drops something like this and completley destroys any competition in my mind, or at least makes me forget about anyone in the game but him. I agree wassemc. Pac is amazing and he put out some amazing albums. I think he knew he was going to die early so he did as much as he could. Im sure if Em had the same kind of thoughts, he could put together a masterpiece of an album in a week. Its just he hasnt ever had to or thought he needed to. I remember him saying he wrote 5 or 6 of the mmlp songs in less than a week in one of his britney spears notebooks. Now I prefer the mmlp over any pac cd personally, not saying its better, just saying I can jam to it more. One more thing. Pac always sounded the same to me, not a bad thing by any means, but he wasnt as versatile as em in being able to switch up the flows or sounding completely different. I also dont think pac could even touch em lyrically. Pac was so real at times that you couldnt even smile while listening to him. Eminem can be real but still make you laugh. The greatest comes downs to ones own opinion and im not about to try and chnage anyones mind, but I know I listen to Em more than any other artist and he’s the reason I got into listening to real lyrical hip hop. Had I been a little older, it might have been pac who influenced me.

I’ll finish with this, If Em died tommorrow and relapse 2 dropped after his death, it would go down as one of the greatest albums ever, even if it was trash, and em would undoubtably be recogonized as the greatest. I hate to say it, but pac and big prosper alot because of their premature death and peoples expectations of what they could have accomplished had they continued to live. Pac and big still top 5 dead or alive, I have pac as 2, big as 3. But I have to have my boy em at 1.

I think it has something to do with Wayne proclaiming (numerous times) he’s the king of rap when really he’s never shown proof of such a claim. At least that’s how it is for me. Wayne is easy to hate because he has a big mouth and an even bigger ego – but unlike somebody such as Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas, and a few others, he doesn’t have the chops in my opinion to back it up.

Plus it’s just a running phenomenon that Eminem nine times out of ten murders whoever he jumps on a track with, AND people are hopeful for R2.
