Relapse 2 will be different thats why he has had to scrap most of the material he was planning to use for Relapse 2. Jimmy Iovine was expecting more sales from the first album and Eminem was disappointed aswell, and the only single that was getting a good responce from people was ‘Beautiful’. So Jimmy told Em to start doing more personal tracks like that, cause he wasnt getting a great responce with the different accents he was doing. Although Em isnt too happy about the situation cause he doesnt want to stay in that depressing mind state and just wants to make music for fun. Thats why they are putting Relapse Refill out, because Em still wants those songs to be heard.

Em is not at his best talking bout drugs. He at his best when he talking bout real shit in the world. MArshal MAthers LP and Eminem SHOW! Thats his BEST HANDS DOWN!

Eminem does sell well, and he’s one of the most popular artist of the last 10 years. As far as selling, he’s beat out everyone in first week numbers and not even Jayz’s B3 could outsell relapse in the first week, and thats pretty amazing seeing how popular run this town and DOA were. Em’s at his best when he’s talking about real life issues, but I dont think he was comfortable enough to talk about the things he was dealing with so early so I think refill will prepare us for relapse 2, which he will dig into the stuff he’s been going through emotionally while he was gone. Interscope polled some people and most of them liked beautiful and underground best, so em went back in the studio and recorded more songs like that, which pushed back the mixing process, which in turn pushed back R2.

You can’t release something that isn’t ready. R2 is still in the mixing phase. Refill just allows us to get more material while eminem perfects R2. We’re basically getting 5 new tracks, that’ll be enough to last me a few months.
