Drake Confirmed On First Blue Print 3 Single, Works With Kanye
by on June 17th, 2009
Canadian rapper Drake is no doubt having one of the biggest years in Hip Hop thus far and the momentum certainly isn't stopping.
Rumors have been floating around for weeks that the former actor will be appearing on the first official single off Jay-Z's Blue Print 3.
LA's DJ Skee, who originally broke news of Jay's street single, D.O.A. [Death Of Auto-tune],has confirmed Drake's appearance on Blue Print 3.
"I don't want to really ruin the surprise," DJ Skee is quoted as saying.
"I mean it's Jay, he's killing it." Although he didn't give much detail, he did confirm that Drake is on the song. Skee went on to get everyone that much more hyped to hear it. "Jay sounds pretty incredible, man."
In related news, Drake has enlisted Kanye West to direct the video for his breakout hit,"Best I Ever Had."
According to XXL Mag, the video will be directed by Kanye and will feature cameos from mentor Lil Wayne, Common, Fabolous, Trey Songz, his Young Money crew mates, and may also even feature an appearance from Jay-Z.

yea this is big shit for drake, his name is bout to be every where

hes setting the bar for all the up and comers
and Best I Ever Had is a dope joint
Dude Is In My Top 5 Artists Right Now
Now if my suspicions of Lil Wayne ghostwritin for him come out to be true, then I’ma be mad. But 4 now, congrats Drake.
Hopefully Kudi is the next to blow up, or B.o.B.
i only meant in the sense of his buzz right now, when Fif came out he was everywhere, just like Drake today
and what’s hot about Drake??? I heard ‘em on a mixtape for da first time jus week. he sounds like he’s either jockin Wayne, or Wayne writes his shit. strictly an opinion but his delivery doesn’t sound like it’s HIS delivery.
this is gonna be Jay’s best work since the original BP and I don’t think he needs cameos, especially one from a cornball named Drake!
i was hopin Jay would limit the features and just include peeps like Kanye, MJB, etc.
i was surprised to hear Drake is gonna be on it.
SOMEBODY BREAK THE CYCLE!
But with Jay, Nothing is ever, ever bad…so this shit going to be Crazy
peace

go fuck yaself. this guy’s a former child actor turned rapper!
u know da rules of hip-hop: actors can’t be rappers! it’s the other way around, and even that scenario has drawbacks.
fuck a drake! jus anotha overrated cornball who caught a break. anybody can do it, and that’s what made hip-hop so dull
he drops 9/11? u got less than 3 months Hov! make the cut! u’ll thank urself later
do some o y’all know what ur sayin when u compare these newbies to artists who dropped noteworthy albums?
50 was at an all-time high when he dropped GRODT. what’s drake done? a few mixtapes and a hot radio single? sounds like all these otha newbies with a 1 year life span.
fuck the hype. I don’t care if Pac was alive n gave drake a spot on his new album AND a spot on the label. unless this kid figures out a new flow he won’t last!
wayne writes for this nigga. drake stans can take it how u want
Jay-Z is trying to stay relevant in the younger crowd as he throw the young one into the spotlight.
I personally do not care, as long as it is great music (Fuck Autotune).
I might give Drake a chance.
One more thing,
who gives a fuck if he was an actor? Several of these artists got fraudulent past, but you still bump them…
because you stupid.
co-sign!
and yeah most o these rappers are frauds ne way but none of ’em were actual actors.
Jay don’t need to appeal to youngstas. what for? his spot’s solidified. he’s in the books forever. these kids don’t know music from farts!
son, get real. any credible producer and/or studio engineer can dress up an artist’s style to make it seem like he’s on to somethin new. jeezy, joc, soulja boy, gorilla zoe u name it! these guys are wack 24/7 but it’s because they’re backed up by halfway decent producers and promoters and might be copying someone else’s style (who’s already hot) that they have such a good buzz.
any fan of real hip-hop or anybody with an ear for talent knows these cats can’t spit a lick. fuck all this hype. drake is a wayne copycat straight up and if u thought wayne was floodin the market then drake’s bout to be part 2 and everyone’s gonna get bored with it.
and of course wayne’s gonna deny writing for this dude. what’s he gonna say, “yeah my boy drake’s lyrics are original but the delivery’s all me”. and completely fuck up his credibility.
Jay’s jus tryin to get this kid to blow, which I can undastand. but not on an album this big. sign ‘em to Roc Nation, host his next mixtape, but don’t give a spot on the album. the new generation don’t know how big the original BP was. they dunno how big part 3’s gonna be. it’s jus an album to them, by an “old” rapper.
I can’t believe it’s sooo easy for rappers to impress this new generation! unbelievable
wayne’s a player in the game right now (it hurts to say it). so to say somethin like “Drake writes for me” will do wonders for Drake’s career…BUT it makes wayne look super wack cuz he admits he doesn’t write his own rhymes…BUT he’s got money to wipe his ass with so he can afford to sacrifice his credibility to help anotha artist. that’s admirable.
Now lets also never use tha term ghostwriting and Wayne’s name anymore, yall are worse than idiots who still think Michael Jackson messed wit boys, just bcuz ppl are different or yer brain dnt fathom dont make you tha law. But on tha Wayne side this is HIP HOP a ghostwriter story would’ve been front page of 50 magazines if that were true even a lil bit especially since ppl are craving to here tha story just to add to tha hate compaign. But let it go it’s Wayne, he random, sometimes legendary other times krazed, but let it go seriously. I bet yall would still say his rhymes were implanted by someone in him if he was solitary confined and still rapping, yall are ahhmazing.
Lastly give DRAKE credit he learning from tha hardest working man in a microwave generation, you can be hotter than tha sun in a month unlike back in tha day where u HAD to travel and put work in, nowadays u can be tha hottest in a day thanks to tha INTERNET i.e. microwave for fame but it can also kill yer fame wit one bad picture lol

Plus tha government always try to run entertainers, do you think it was coincidence none of tha major East Coast/West Coast cats had legitimate beef, it was more hyped, I could be wrong because this is my opinion, but its funny not until Pac wanted to ge tinto politics and be a major player in that last yr before he died and had a following did he actually die, (vids on youtube under Rare Pac interview footage or one of Pac’s last interviews talkin bout having a voice in tha white house)
U don’t think u can believe tha government hated that Mike was untouchable on our continent and others, but u gon tell me u believe Pac could get shot on tha busiest street in America [at that time] (and in general most tha time) and NO ONE see, hear, or know anything. There’s only one type of people that work like that fam, and its tha Feds or tha Government, unless bloods and crips got a whole other spectrum of strategic cats. Its social reign man, Mike ain’t no threat bcuz he ain’t trying to move people or be political but he had too much damn power for our society straight up, like come on man, you gon keep sending your kids to a man’s house who a supposed pedophile, someone was insisting that they do, I’m just saying it don’t add up, did u see his interview; would u do it again Mike? “yes giving someone your bed is tha kindest act you can do, and I love kids so why wouldn’t I” he krazy but he was always tha same, not supporting it just saying

i dont like wayne but i give the man his props cuz i like some of his shit
why cant ya do the same wit Drake?
give props where they due…when a person got talent they deserve props for it
if u dont see drake’s talent either ur too stupid to understand his lines or u just wanna hate
thats whats up!
that like being on mj team if he came back! wow! i am excited, i fucks with drake even that dude get hated on more then obama at a kkkk meeting! it all bueno though!
u can give the guy all the credit in the world, it’s your opinion. jus don’t expect all the nay-sayers to follow suit. cuz we obviously don’t see star potential in the kid!
i seem to remember a BEAST of a rapper named Beanie Sigel who scored a deal with the Roc without a demo or radio play! now he’s in the shadows somewhere. i keep sayin it: fuck the hype! drake aint the first to generate a huge media buzz only to fall off less than 5 years later and he won’t be the last.
Drake’s not the one! take it how u want
