by on October 14th, 2009
Dr. Dre has sent out an invitation to rapper Jay-Z to feature on the producer's long awaited Detox album. If accepted, Jay-Z will be putting in double duty on the album by writing and delivering a guest verse.
While promoting his latest venture with HP, the Beats By Dre notebook series. Dre revealed to MTV news that Jay-Z has been in the studio doing some writing for him lately.
“Hopefully I’ll get him to perform on the record. Jay, come holler!”
Dr. Dre and Jay-Z have collaborated in the past with Jay being a co-writer on, "Still D.R.E.", that appeared on the Chronic 2001.
Detox, which is the follow up to Dre's 1999 album Chronic 2001 revealed that artists Nas and R. Kelly make guest appearances on the album along with rumors of rappers Lil Wayne, T.I. and Drake ghost writing for the producer.
Dr. Dre is hoping to put the finishing touches on the album and have it out in stores around this time next year.
