Dr. Dre Talks Detox...Again
by on July 23rd, 2008
In a recent interview with USA Today, Dr. Dre confirmed that Detox is almost complete and we could see it by the end of the year. "I'm just now — over the last couple of months — starting to feel that
it's going to be right and it's something I can be proud of, and
everybody is going to love it," said the producer extraordinaire. "In a
perfect world, I'm shooting for a November or December release."
How exactly did Dre almost single-handedly raise the bar for hip-hop production? He says, "I never set out to do that. I just make the music feel the way I want it to feel and I don't put it out until I'm totally happy with it. Then it does what it does."
Detox has been the subject of speculation since Dre first hinted at the project in 2002. He has been working on the album, which will be released on his Aftermath/Interscope Records label, on and off for four years. He says he has assembled a new crew of musicians, and the beats will be heavily driven by live drums. "We have an entirely new thing going with the drums that's incredible, and we're still developing that." All "the usual suspects" will make guest appearances, including Nas, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.
It doesn't look like we should expect another album from Dre anytime soon after Detox, which has been talked about being released since 2002. "I'm going to put this record out, promote it, tour and then become a hermit. I'm going to stay in the studio and produce." The article was ended with Dre also stating that instead of working with artists who are already established, he'd rather work with someone new who would be the next big thing. "All I want to do is sit in the studio with that person for a year and try to create another masterpiece."

I hope it’s ya boy he fucks with to drop a classic
i understand his producing skills are nice but as a rapper he sucks, and everybody ghost writes for him so i dont get it? wut makes this any different from pharrels or timberlands album? they are not rappers they are producers
True, ALL of us would prefer it sooner or later. But remember when you copped Doggy Style, All Eyes on Me, Da Chronic and Marshall Mather’s LP’s? No amount of time sooner or later would’ve changed the sheer ‘awesomeness’ of those classic albums!
So Dre, if you can, let your ppls have that GOOD SHIT sooner. If not, we’re still gonna go cop it when you release it!
I’m in need of another WEST COAST CLASSIC!
One love to all my true hip/hop fam!
I am already don’t care about this album .
L.A.X.
I hope Snoop hops on a gang of tracks like he did on the Chronic & 2001 (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it). just remind him to come to the lab with his 90’s rhyme book, he can leave his latest at home.
dre knows what he is doing, he is a LEGEND, Nas= Legend, Jay = legend, they put out classic material because they NEVER!!! rush, you can’t throw a album together in 6 months and expect it to be a classic, Dre probably has about 200 tracks on deck but is having a hard time narrowing it down to album size and he can take all the time that he needs, i’m kind if impatient too but shit, i want a classic and its worth the wait
But dats what make a Dre album a Dre album
He’s a perfectionist!
And on top a dat he dont need money so he aint gotta rush no album out just to get paid like some other legendary emcees(Hova) who will remain nameless!
It just goes to show that he is truly a legend!
Almost anybody else would have lost there buzz makin people wait this long
Dre’s buzz just got stronger!
In gods name is Wayne gonna be on this
WHY DRE WHY
WHY would you work with someone like Wayne who has NO TALENT
