Fans of Dr. Dre awaiting the release of his mythical "Detox" LP are going to have to scratch it off their Christmas list once again.
The good doctor who has been promising the follow up to 2001's "The Chronic" for nearly a decade now, says the album may be finished by the end of this year.
While promoting his Beats By Dr. Dre line of headphones, Dre says lack of motivation is the reason for the hold up.
"[I'm] only [working] on my album that I've been working on for the last ten years, that's it [laughs]," he's quoted as saying."
"The Detox record. Hopefully I'll get it done by the end of this year and you'll hear it next year. Motivation and other things getting in the way, that's it [has caused the delay.]"

On Detox – Dre is 40+, he’s probably fearful he won’t appeal to the young audience and end up selling very little. Detox will likely never come out…
This album has been 10 years in the making.. Give it up ppl.. Its never coming.

Dre need to quit lying. The dudes that he had writing his lyrics were probably writing some bullshit. Funny how Game is in this pic with Dre. The worst move Dre ever made was not backing a young and very talented Game and sticking with Curtis No Action Jackson. And be honest, Eminem isn’t Slim Shady anymore. If he is then explain to me why he is not in your conversations when it comes to rappers. When dudes think they are bigger than the sport, everything seems tainted. Dre don’t know what to do because he ain’t been doin shit for 3-5 years now. Another bad move Dre and Em both embarked on was releasing the hottest unknown dude in the game, yep I speak of Bobby Creekwater, go check out his mixtapes, shits should be albums.
