Death Row Back In Court
by on November 19th, 2009
Fans everywhere have to ask themselves the question, would this be happening if 2pac were still alive? Unfortunantly for all of us, no one will ever know, as the once legendary record label is further being tainted by more legal woes and court battles.
In 2008 a woman by the name of Lara Lavi formed Wideawake-Death Row Ent. With the company that helped to finance the purchase of the label. But now Lavi is filing a lawsuit against that same company News Solutions Financial Corp, claiming that they have "illegally diverted funds and engaged in fraudulent self dealing actions."
The lawsuit would prevent New Solutions Financials managing director and other companies from doing business on behalf of the label. The suit also seeks to recover all of the assets that was allegedly diverted as well as "reasonable costs and reimbursements"
The news comes as another setback for the label which is releasing a greatest hits album titled Ultimate Death Row Collection on November 24th; but instead of focusing on the three disk album which will have 60 tracks worth of hits. The lawsuit looms over the good news.

Wideawake-Death Row bought the old Death Row Records in bankruptcy court for $18 million dollars in 2008.
