[Blog] The Blueprints vs. The Carters
by on October 6th, 2009
Unlike some of the people on the main page, I like to frequent the forums of Defsounds. I find it to be refreshing, because the volume of traffic is a lot smaller then the main page, so conversations can be started and finished without to many random intteruptions. Another thing that I enjoy about the forums are the great discussions that they have, so today when I logged on and saw the newest discussion, I knew that I just had to share it with you guys.
One of the more dedicated members of the forum Ballin101 created a new poll thread titled "The Carters V.S. The Blueprints". The explanation was quite simple, he wanted the members of the forum to pick which one they though was the better series of albums, was it the Blueprint series or the Carter series? Members of the forum began to respond right away giving their input, some picking The Carter series saying that the Carter's one and two were better then Blueprint 2 and 3, while others argued that the first Blueprint outweighed anything that Wayne had ever made so their was no competition.
The conversation really made me think about the albums and what I thought about them. It also made me want to know what you guys thought, so I figured why not accomplish both goals. Heres what I think.
First off, Lil Wayne is a great artist, but he or any current rapper has no album that will ever match up to the first Blueprint, so it's out of the question. As far as Blueprint II, I think it received such poor reviews, because it came right after a classic album. if Kobe Bryant scores 81 points in one game, then comes back the next game and drops 45 does that mean that he had a bad game? Yes there is definitely a drop off in the number of points he had compared to the other game, but if you look at it realisticly not many people can drop 45 points in one game. I think that Blueprint II was Hov's 45 point game follow up to scoring 100 points, so since Blueprint II wasn't as effective as the first one people deemed it a dissapointment.
I actually loved Blueprint II; that's the album that was playing in my speakers before I left my house today and to be quite honest I dont think Carter II was better than Blueprint 2 either. Blueprint 3The Carter 3 although its still fairly new, it is still far superior to , like I said in the review, C3 could have been a mixtape. You could tell that there was no real effort in putting these songs in the album, besides the fact that they were the best songs that he made at the time. Lollipop was a fun song, and it did great in the clubs, but seriously I barely remember it anymore. Mr. Carter had the chance to be one of those timeless songs, but Wayne blew it by flopping in the clutch with his last verse, and other then that everything else is pretty average. Blueprint 3 has what is arguably the new New York Anthem with "Empire State Of Mind", one of those moment capturing songs with "Forever Young" and the ultimate motivator with "So Ambitious" those three songs alone outweigh whatever Wayne was trying to do with C3. So at the end of the day, the Blueprint series wins it for me by a lot. The only two albums that can be close in quality and effort in my opinion are the Blueprint 2, and the first Carter. So just to break it down in plain language here it is.
Blueprint over Wayne's entire career
Blueprint II over The Carter II
Blueprint III over The Carter III

What’s the point of this TOPIC when it’s “already” set up one sided?
Blueprint over Wayne’s entire career
carterIII=1.5 millie first week
blueprintIII=465,000 first week
lil wayne >> jay z
So in short, Jay’s Blueprint Series > Wayne’s Career.
I mean really…you asked us a question, and then you answered it for us…..another DUMB ass blog……
and by the way……you LT talking like blueprint 1 is the fuckin bible or something??
It was a nice collection of songs, but the best cd ever? GTFOOH!
bp2 <<< c2 a good album vs a better album (waynes best album)
bp3 >>> c3 a masterpiece vs a disappointment
jay wins 2-1
not judging by 1st week sales… but by sr8 songs n lyrics… sorry 2 all u wayne stans lyk pmoney n dooflinky but these r tha facts: lil wayne idolizes jay thats y his whole career he was feenin 2 do a song wit jay n wen they did (mr. carter) jay ate him so bad on his own song he had 2 spit a 4th verse (that wasnt better than jays verse so it was pointless)… lil wayne is a good rapper he jus isnt (n never will b) better than jay
Blueprint 1 > All Carters
Carter 1 &2 > Blueprint 2
Carter 3 Aclomplishments > Greater than BP 2 & 3
Blueprint 3 > Carter 2 & 3
But out side of the discussion, Waynes fat ass library of mixtapes beats Jay-Z anyday.
Cuz Wayne has been in the game pretty damn long too but has been putting out way more than Jay. Cuz in 500 Degreez Wayne was spittin…Lights Out was nice too. and dont forget the Dedication’s, Squad Up’s (especially 7), And him Juelz and Drake have nasty ass verses on alot of mixtapes. And theres plenty more Wayne mixtapes. But Jays consistency has been better than Waynes. Because he isnt so saturated. But Wayne spits and if you cant admit it then your not a true hip hop head.
carter 2 > bp2 (loved carter 2, wayne at his peak)
bp3 > carter 3 (bp3 was solid, carter 3 was a disappointment)
jay is just jay, i mean overall jay would have the best cause they both fell off on the 3rd but wayne was pretty close to jay on the 1st 2 carters
i know i would trash this one till the streetcleaners come..
I mean really. If you even have to compare these two, you’ve gotta either be young or ignorant about hip-hop. Looking at the way C3 was built as an album, and looking at the lyrical weaknesses in Tha Carter, there’s NO CONTEST. Jay takes it.
Of course Wayne is goes down in history for his mixtape game because by the time the mixtape game was big on the internet, Jay was already too old for that.
Wayne is for the children. Jay is timeless. And he doesn’t whine like a bitch on autotune either.
obviously wayne hater n jayz dick rider
carters are better then the blueprints
all carters are hot not all the bluprints are.
blueprint 2 was a total waste .had about 3 hot songs lol
and bp3 is so soft on a lyrical scale n jays flow is so dragging he cant keep up wit most the beats lol
all the editors on this site are wayne haters then they go further to make wayne blogs trying to hate on his succes and his popularity lol
wayne is the best rapper ever
jayz is a close 2nd lol
If I had to choose I would say The Carter series just because I bumped them more and know every word to every song.
AND AS FAR AS THE OTHER ONES.
BP2<C1 C2
BP3=C3 (BUT IF THE ORIGINAL SONGS WERE TO BE ON THERE THEN DEF BP3<C3)
bp2<c2 bp3>c3
my honest opinion, i like both artists the same (no homo)
JIGGA=G.O.AT
Kingdom Come > Wayne
/> Now this is your brain on drugshttp://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/04/22/86/09/0004228609102_500X500.jpg
Yes, I’ve listened to his mixtapes and his CD’s, Nothing I cared for.
Kingdom Come wasn’t good, but i like it more than anything Wayne has done.
The only album Wayne has over Jay is:
Carter II vs Blueprint 2
C2= better than BP2 & BP3
C3= better than BP2
BP1= better than C1-C3
BP3= better than C3
Wayne= 5 points
Jay= 4 points
There’s the proof, Wayne wins.
“..Men lie, women lie; Numbers don’t..”
Blueprint 1 classic out weighs C1 Blueprint 2 disc 2 is better than C2 whole album but to me Jay couldve kept like 4 songs off disc 1 and put em on disk 2 that woukdve been another classic… blueprint 3 is disrespectful to comare to C3 thats a slap in a face to Jay so I wont go there Blueprint smashes the carters easy
you should get banned from this site for even saying that shit…
carter 3 better than bp3…
you have big grapefruits saying that shit…
thats like saying gwen stafani album is better than nas’ illmatic ahaha…
that goes to show you how brainwashed you are by mainstream bullshit played on the radio…you just like the other 3 million girls that brought this album…a fuckin pussy…
notice how carter 1 and bp1 was strictly for the streets…
and now when you look at carter 3 and bp3….
they both have that huge mainstream sound….
carter 3 was straight pop except for a couple of songs….
bp3 had a slight pop sound in it as well…if you really listen to it…
it’s like a huge 360…
real talk…
Is it offensive to compare Lebron and Kobe??? Maybe to Kobe, but not to the majority of rational fans.
as far as your lil analogy, wayne is more of a vince carter type. dude below had it right. wayne is the tony romo of rap.
it’s like Mohamad vs Jesus .. Letis try to make it right
========
Blueprint 1 = Carter 3
Blue print 2 over Carter 2
Carter 1 over Blueprint 3
=====
The First Carter album is massively Overlooked i dunno Y ..
so is the carter 3 , people just criticizing " Lolipop " and " get " Got money " and bet they didn’t even lisen to the rest of the album .. those tracks are just made for some publicity stunt like every one else ..
PS : i wish they add the " prop- trash " option to the editor’s blogs too so i can just trash that faggot for this gayish : " Blueprint over Wayne’s entire career "
Blueprint 1 better than Carter 1
Carter 2 better than Blueprint 2
Blueprint 3 = Carter 3
Overall though, the blueprint series is better and more consistent music.
“Wayne did a milli, 50 did a milli, Ye too, but what Em did was silly”
blueprint 1 by far
carter/ carter 2
blueprint 2
and blueprint 3 and carter 3 were both some shit compared to the rest
lil wayne and jay sound nothing alike asswhole
lil wayne actually has multiple flows jay has .5 honestly
Jay stole biggies flow so jay a biter
Tha Carter 2 killed the ENTIRE blueprint series. yea trash me i have songs all over from all three blueprints but that shit is over rated honestly. Carter 2 lil wayne MASTERED rap, every line was sick. bp3 sucks bp2 sucks more balls then bp2,
getting away from the article, im tired of people using sales as a way to rpove someone is better. yea wayne sold 1.5 million in a week, ok. eminem has the solo aritist record with 1.78 million in a week with marshall mathers. then he sold 1.1 with eminem show, then 700,000 in 4 days wit encore. wayne cant comepare to that. on top of that, the carter 3 stalled at 3 million whish is great, but the marshall mathers lp went diamond (10 million). so dont use that mil in a week shit to justify the carter three as a classic album please. mc hammer sold more records than tupac when they were out at the same time, your gonna tell mc hammer is an all time great.
anyways goin back (sorry, but stupidity pisses me off), none of the carters can compare to the blueprints. there was no real point to this article. anyone who says the carter is better is either under 16 years old, retarded, or a combination.
and “youngdrama” for you to say what you said just proved whats wrong with the game today, how old are you? do you even know what a classic is? do you know what music is? or do you just jump on whats hot like everyone else these days. for you to claim that the carter 1 is better than or equal to bp1 is prbly the most unintelligent thing i have ever heard, and i feel that defsounds should delete your account for being a fool, and i also feel that you should be disowned from anything hip hop your involved in and start listening to another genre cause you have not only disgraced yourself, but your crew, and your family. real talk. none of the carters will ever be in the same catergory as
blueprint
illmatic
ready to die
the chronic
only built for cuban linx
me against the world
etc, etc.
and if you believe that it is, then again you should be addressed. but hey, i should apologize to you and the other lil’boy i addressed, why? because you are probably between the ages of 15-20 and are in need of help… so heres some advice:
get the albums i mentioned, and i hope theres other people like me out there that will name some classic for you bitches to pick up. after you buy them/ download them, or whatever you do, i want you two and the rest of you people who think like them to apologize to the people of defsounds and the mass public.
both artists have had an impact on the music industry in their careers, Hov, considered one of the greatest rappers of all time has had legendary albums, like he says in “reminder”… “men lie, women lie, numbers don’t”… taking that into consideration jay-z’s albums sold… and when i say sold i’m talking about pushing 1,000,000+ sales in total; any rappers life long dream. to go platinum. Wayne on the other hand has his “numbers” to prove that he’s worth going down in history as well… as much as you Wayne haters like to admit it… 1,500,000 albums in ONE WEEK is unbelievable. and if you’ve ever seen Lil Wayne: Behind the Music or whatever the fuck it’s called you’d know that Jay-Z has respect for Wayne… on that note Jay knows Wayne is a legend in the making, he has his accomplishments.
overall, the two aren’t comparable… the are from different years, Jay was in his prime by the time the Blueprint series dropped. He had his success with Reasonable Doubt. Wayne on the other hand was JUST on his way when Tha Carter dropped, his first album since Tha Block is Hot to go platinum (as i recall Tha Block is Hot DID go platinum, i could be completely wrong though) and it was considered the START of a NEW career (may i remind you that Wayne had thrown away all his lyrics to start Tha Carter and did a 10,000 bar session to do so)… you just can’t compare the two.
Dblock>>>>>Gunit just like Jay>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wayne, album-wise, content-wise,… overall. It doesn’t take a genius to know that.
but since you wann bring him up…..
The only reason anyone even says someone else gets “murdered” on a track with another artist is because of him. Before that, niggas would just say they liked one niggas verse more or someone was okay but the other dude killed it. Nas was just talking shit to get at Jay.Ether is the best diss song ever, but at least Jay had some real facts to back up his statements in his disses.
That Em shit is overrated. This nigga Already had that song out with Royce on it but Jay bought it, put it on his album and they removed Royce.End of story. Jay could’ve came harder on it but he still did good. So what, everytime 2 niggas get on a track niggas are gonna be like" oh, so and so got murdered"? that shit is dumb.
AND
If you think niggas dickride Jay, there are DEFINITELY more Eminem dickriders.
Whose the only rapper than can get away with talking bout killing his own mom, his girlfriend. saying all kinds of shit about Satanism and borderline gay and just plain weird shit without backlash from fans?! The whiteboy, that’s who. You motherfuckers wouldn’t accept that shit from any other rapper to date. But motherfuckers are quick to defend his actions any chance they get, no matter how heinous.smh
Stans as called by the creator of the term. No wonder he has so many of them.smfh
-i brought up a fact about how the ppl were evaluating this “argument” and how its one sided in jays favor…ex: ppl typing carter III sucks b/c jay “murdered” wayne on Mr Carter, well why doesnt blueprint suck when jay got “murdered” by eminem on renegade if ur applying the same logic? just raising the point ppl be fucking wack on defsounds contradicting themselves, not making an actual statement or picking a side….
-What did i type that would allow you to say or interpret Gunit beat the LOX, thats the part im confused about or your confused about b/c we all know that didnt/couldnt and will never happen….And ya co-sign theres just as many Eminem stans as Jay stans but this page is about Jay so, i mean it seems ppl on defsounds only know shit about like Jay, Eminem, Wayne, Kanye, 50 and ride them regardless to the grave and know nothing of any other great street niggas, why dont any of you fools know shit about Nas LOX, AZ, Beanie Sigel, Big L, Bone Thugs, The Game, Cassidy, old CNN, Masta Ace, Cormega, DMX, Gangstarr, Ghostface, Raekwon, Ludacris, old Mobb Deep, Nate Dogg, Snoop, Warren G, Scarface, old Outkast, Rakim….I mean wtf this site gets worse by the day do your homework uneducated hip hop stans !!!
I said the Gunit, Lox thing to explain a point based on this arguement. I interpreted it as " Because a group or person is bigger by name and status that when they get in a battle/song with a another artist that they win by default."based on that statement, but being sarcastic.(this is NOT a cosign for Wayne.)
I Immediately said that the Lox was better and there was no way Gunit could compare.(read it again)
And yeah, you’re definitely right about this site and the lack of knowledge of music. But what you must understand is that most of the people on here are “rap” fans and not “hiphop” fans. there is a difference. It’s all about content, but thats for a different dicussion.
but on the Carter vs. Blueprints is tougher to decide what to think
Carter 1 was gud (7.3)
Carter 2 was better (8)
Carter 3 was pretty gud i aint gonna lie yall downgrade this album too much i thought 3 was better than 1 but 2 was better than all (7.7)
Now Jay-z blueprint Album is the shit dog i fuckin (8.7)
the 2nd one i didn’t like that much coming from Jay (7.3)
Blueprint 3 is better than the 2nd one but not the first (7.5)
yea so compare Jays best to Waynes best
The best of each: Carter 2 vs Blueprint….Jay won
2nd best of each: Carter 3 vs. Blueprint 3…..Wayne Wayne Wayne immma say it 1000 times
Carter 1 vs. Blueprint 2 a tie these both were the worst outta the 3
I think both of these series is sooooo close but Jay get it in the end becasue Jay just blows him outta of the fuckin water with the BP1 n thats the Truth, we can’t say Wayne overrall the worst than Jay in the end becuz Wayne still has many mo years on his Belt so who kno Wayne might come out with a album better than Reasonable doubt…..
Agreed.
@ whodat118
I feel you almost completely, but I feel like BP3 was better than C3.
For these simple facts:
1.) the song “Misunderstood” was completely jacked off of Common’s cd “Finding Forever” with a very slight change in the beat. Btw Common ripped that shit and it sounded way better than Wayne’s.
2.) Almost all the beats off Waynes Cd were jacked and he has been sued repeatedly for them by the different people who made them.
3.)Certain songs that you were hoping that he would Finally provide some substance on, he didn’t. (like Shoot me down and Tie my Hands.)Which is a huge dissapointment and an injustice to the song that he couldn’t take the time out to make some “real” shit for it. At this point in his career, I expect growth and not just guns and ddrug talk. Show you have more to offer!(like on “Amen”)
4.)This honestly could have passed as a mixtape. and not even one of his good ones like The Prefix,The Sufix, Can’t Feel my Face, Waynes World series,Dedication 2, Drought 3.I think he’s just too high and too fucked up to actually concentrate on making quality music anymore.
5.)If you’re gonna jump on a track with the man you claim that you are better than, then you need to show and prove. As much shit as Wayne has said, he should have came EXTRA hard on that track to remove all doubt. But he couldn’t. I can’t front like there wasn’t a point where he was giving Hov a run for his money but now……Not at all. Wayne has always been about the right now, and that’s why he doesn’t possess the ability to have longevity. Cuz he’s not getting beter and maturing.
CARTER 2 was fire tho
o yea
carter 3 sessions > c3
period
Blueprint over Wayne’s entire career
Blueprint II over The Carter II
Blueprint III over The Carter III
First things first…Can we STOP comparing EVERY rapper to Lil Wayne??? PLEASE!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big Wayne fan, but NO he is not the BEST rapper alive. We get it already, drop that topic.
Second, I feel like everytime someone compares their favorite rapper to Wayne it’s just their way of of saying…“SEE I TOLD YOU (Insert Rapper Name Here) IS BETTER THAN WAYNE.” Whether you think Wayne is good or not is your own opinion, but by spreading these comparison topics all over the place it’s gonna make Wayne fans like him any less? The answer is simply no. Wayne fans are gonna be Wayne fans until they stop liking his music.
The comparison of Wayne and Jay Z is like apples and Oranges. YEs they are both fruits (no homo. that made me laugh a little bit) but that don’t mean they are the same at all. Jay is a legend…and and will go down in history as one of the best to do it. He has classic albums, and could retire anytime and not worry bout shit. (which he should do now cuz he’s about to Brett Farve himself BP3 was mediocre)
Wayne on the other hand still has work to do and he knows it. Everyone knows it. Jay said it best when he said Wayne is the Lebron of hip hop. Is Lebron a legend right now? Not by any means. He has no championships, and continues to come up short every season, BUT he continues to get better with each passing season, and how can we say that’s not wayne? the dude works harder than any other artist, and HE HAS A TRACK WITH MADONNA! Everyone here may not give a shit about Madonna but thats HUGE for any rapper. Wayne is getting better and one day he will drop that classic album we’ve all been waiting for.
But right now Wayne is NOT on Jay’s level. He’ll be there one day, I’m sure of it, but until then drop teh damn comparisons. Fuck. It’s getting old…No, it’s been old.
tha carter 2 > the blueprint 2
the blueprint 3 > tha carter 3
winner = jay-z
LOL
please…Wayne’s intelligence level is 1/3 of HOV’s when it comes to making quality music and staying TRUE to the Hip-Hop Culture.
This blog = Fail
Carter 2 was ill. I’d ride n’ smoke to that disk almost everyday goin to work. the first Carter was jus annoying to say the least. i was hearing “Go DJ” literally everywhere i went and it jus never caught on. and those sappy “I Miss My Nigga” type songs was enough to kill R.I.P. joints for me for good. Carter 3, i didn’t even bother. there were some tracks, but not nearly enough to keep me a fan.
but on some real dope: Wayne n Drake can beat each otha off with all those mixtapes! those niggas are the Dallas Cowboys of hip-hip! neither one of ’em have done anything meaningful for the game and yet they have enough stans to fill a halfway house the size of Manhattan! which one of ’em is Romo? lmao
HOV!!!!!!
i mean carter 2 is good. its aight. dont see where all the hype for this guy comes from. half of ya have to be blazed to enjoy this guy. weezy should be compared to niggas like juelz, fab, etc. dont compare him to the big dawgs. its not fair to him.
lmao @ kindom come > wayne
ya right
c3 sessions > kindome come too!!!
carter 2 was mad good i heard all of it bp2 was underratted i like carter 2 more\
and bp3 is way better then carter 3…i dont listen to carter 3 no ore idk anyone who really does but i gurantee ill be listenin to bp3 for a while
HOV!!
SLAUGHTER!!

I’m sittin here tryin to figure out how a Lil Wayne (Romo) fan can type endless dick-ridin comments sayin how great this bum is without any noteable achievements.
did “Romo” sell out the Garden in a day? no
did he set any REAL trends? no, unless u count carryin a styrofoam(?) cup in every video
mixtapes? anybody can blaze a mixtape these days, that’s nothin but a cheap buzz. how many tapes has Jay put out since 2000? nooo, not those corny blend tapes that’s full of old rhymes over different beats. Jay don’t need tapes cuz he saves all his new material for NEW ALBUMS…well, most of it. I don’t remember the last time Hov wasted new rhymes on a solo mixtape.
Jay knows how to cut an album, Romo wastes exclusive material on mixtapes and cons his fans into buyin an album stuffed with shit that shoulda been on the tapes. smh one of the oldest tricks in the book.
I stand by my opinion: C2 was Romo’s ONLY great album
all 3 BP’s>>>YME’s whole catalogue
wait…they have a catalogue right? not just mixtapes I mean
Bp2 < C2
Bp3 < C3
I feel like everyone on here has there own opinion and will make thier comments with predetermined bias. I think Bp3 was a HUGE disappointment. Dont get me wrong there are good song on it, So Ambitious, Thank You, Run This Town, and Empire State of Mind, but almost every song on C3 were good. The only song that i think flopped was Playing with Fire. What the fuck was Jayz thinking with Forever Young? It was the worst song I’ve heard in a long time. Jayz is falling off. NO disrespect becausei like him alot. But he’s not as good as he was. Wayne is only getting better. He is lyrically better than Jayz. His punchlines and metaphors are unmatched. His mixtapes are insane and he comes out with music constantly. I dont know why people are getting on wayne for using autotune. No one said shit until Jayz said it was getting old. Meanwhile jayz uses it himself. Jayz is also a punk. EVERYONE bust shots at him without a response. Some of you may say that “he’s too old for beef.” But he knows that if he were to respond to anything anyone said (Game, 50, Wayne) he would lose his career.
To make everything simple. Wayne IS better. Jayz WAS better.
Prebirth and Tha Carter IV are gonna be amazing.
First off Wayne put out 2 or 3 hot albums before the carter series even existed. so saying Jay Z > Wayne is idotic and dump. Now look at it Wayne puts out so much music that its pissing other fans off. just get off your favrite rapper dick and take in the knowlede. Jay Z have not put out a mixtape that i remeber?? and shit i dont remeber one. Now i remeber most of wayne mixtapes. Ex. Suffix & Prefixx but realize that wayne gots Jay because after all these songs he still got MATERIAL and quality martieral . i bet after BP3 jay gone take off another 3 yrs just to write a album. im just tellin it how it is.
Jay’s efforts are ground breaking. in AND outta the studio. they’re edged in stone son! everything Wayne’s ever done was done outta Jay’s influence. remember that wack ass “Balla Blockin” movie Cash Money did? what was Wayne’s character’s name? Ice Berg Shorty. what was Hov’s nickname back around that time? ICE BERG SLIM! do ya homework young nigga!
THAT’S how it is!
Carter 1 was gud (7.3)
Carter 2 was better (8)
Carter 3 was pretty gud i aint gonna lie yall downgrade this album too much i thought 3 was better than 1 but 2 was better than all (7.7)

but to put it simply: the east coast built this rap game. NY, Jerz, Philly all were the first to do it. Chi-Town and The D made major noteable contributions too but the South was doin just fine b4 they got the spotlight. they fucked everything up. The South fucked up mainstream hip-hop. any fan of real hip-hop music knows and thinks that.
and did Big ask to be shot dead after just 3 albums? no, he told very realistic stories and covered a lot of ground content-wise in such a short amound of time. that’s why he’s a legend. hop of the bandwagon and do ur homework
Salute the effort tho!!!!!!!!
You points are invalid. You say " Whose the only rapper than can get away with talking bout killing his own mom, his girlfriend. saying all kinds of shit about Satanism and borderline gay and just plain weird shit without backlash from fans?!" Let stop and break it down kid.
-Reasonable Doubt a classic in the eyes of his fans ( and everybody that not a hater) wasn’t acceptedby mainstream
-Slim Shady LP a great album in the eyes of of his fans wasn’t accepted by mainsteam either
Unlike Jay though , who went commercial after that (Vol. 1), Em said you accept me like i am (Marshall Mathers LP).
Also seeing that you only talk shit about Em content lets get to basics. Em is a acid/horrorcore rapper like Nightmare on Elm Street. Jay is a gangsta rapper like American Ganster. You can’t compare the two because one is fairytales and the other is reality.
You chose to skim thru and pick the parts u wanted,
The point was in the parts you chose not to copy/paste:
“If you think niggas dickride Jay, there are DEFINITELY more Eminem dickriders.”
I was making a comparison about how many dickriders Em has, since Screamlox was talking about people dickriding Jay.(I thought this was obvious,..guess not.smh)
“You motherfuckers wouldn’t accept that shit from any other rapper to date. But motherfuckers are quick to defend his actions any chance they get, no matter how heinous.”
Which is by all means true. To break it down since you dont get it:
If Em were black or any other race for that matter, he wouldn’t have gotten such wide media attention talking about the things that he does.
Cuz the kind of shit he says is not “normally” accepted in the hiphop community(as well as anywhere else) and hasn’t been in the past or currently now from anyone except him.
Great examples: D12,Royce before now, etc. NO one felt them when they were doing it, especially Royce, but they definitely didn’t take it to the extreme in which Em does.
It’s almost like he gets a pass for saying shit like that just cuz dumb niggas wanna look at it like “Oh, he’s just a crazy whiteboy.lol”
No.. That shit doesn’t make him cool.I CAN’T DENY HE IS A GREAT LYRICIST BUT HIS “CONTENT” WOULD NOT HAVE GOT HIM THIS FAR WITHOUT DRE ENDORSING IT.(and endless contreversy) To me, that shit is playing off of what you can get away with. Also known as a gimmick. Cant knock him for doing it, but its’ true.
Cmon dog,you know if he was Black, Arab, Spanish, whatever, he would have police watching his every fucking move. Real Shit.
Now that you are clear on “the point”, let me get back to doing me. Have a nice day nigga.
BP1 is better than any album in Wayne’s intire catalog!
Honestly, I think that Drake is nicer than Wayne, and he makes better music.
Compare Nas, or Marshall to Jay.. Not Wayne!
But its a not even a question.
Jay-Z > Wayne
The Blueprints > The Carters
PERIOD.
Peace!
AS OF RIGHT NOW
Jayz and Lil’ Wayne are on the same level. The thing about Wayne is that he keeps getting better.
Dat boy Oj da juiceman!! U know how
How many classics he got under his belt
Cuz!!? Ayyy!!!
I don’t see any progression in Wayne’s style. it’s either a autotune-generated groupie single, or a cliche street heater.
if this is really how dude does business he needs to go underground. that way he can pretty much do what he wants. the mainstream has a format to it, and he and alotta otha cats make a mockery of it.
next topic please
carter 1 & 3 over blueprint 2 & 3 easy…….
good delivery
wordplay
flow
lyrics
it all comes down to those 4 right there and maybe more if you want to add statistics like 1 albums, or grammys or watever. but to me the only people who are the best at all of those are wayne and jay and def. eminem right now so those are the best rappers alive right now(ok wayne might lack lyrics somtimes but he def makes up with his delivery, flow, wordplay, and his beat selection)
All got that 2
Blueprints > Carters
I like Wayne more than Jay but Wayne can’t fuck with Jay…
BP1 is better than anything wayne has ever put out..
Please stop the comparisons.. But everyone has an opinion.. & it’s just that.. an opinion
