[Blog] Fame or Fortune?
by on March 4th, 2010
These two go hand in hand, yet most people seem to be more interested in fame. Yet others will tell you that fortune is all that they need to get things taken care of (for the most part) in life. So, let’s look at the pros and cons of both.
With fame, you have your name recognized in the minds of thousands, millions, or possibly even billions of people. Even if you weren’t doing good money-wise, you could always make a guest appearance on a TV show, song, or at a venue to get some cash- based on your reputation (and usually skills) alone. Your opinions and beliefs will be projected to a much larger audience rather than the average Joe who has great ideas and whatnot but doesn’t have that mass appeal.
But as luck would have it, fame is considered a drug by many and is not a true representation of happiness, and can also be looked at as a double-edged sword. Because if you get on the bad side of the public, that can lead to doors of opportunity being shut. Take a look at some of the ‘has-beens’ in politics, sports, or in entertainment. Yes, people will remember…but being relevant nowadays, no.
Then there’s fortune. What men have pursued, fought and killed over, and other despicable acts done in the name of the almighty dollar. Unintentional superstars like big-time drug dealers or corrupt politicians and CEOs make the news and become ingrained in popular culture…yet they don’t require the fame. The money is more than enough for them to be content. And coincidentally, what the mainstream media feed us is how to get more money- while we actually lose it and they get even richer.
The downside to fortune is the problems that come with it, especially concerning scheming and murder. Here’s a video that is a blunt example of the reality of having millions:

you a dumb fuck nigga. Paris Hilton is heiress to run probably the most expensive and superior hotels, the Hilton. And Nicole Richie is Lionel Richie’s daughter, nuff said.
Far more smarter people with fame and prolly broke, prime example would be New York and them two twins, Real and Chance, all those reality show people that got rejected themselves. and yes most notably would be Kim Kardashian
Honestly I feel that if I made a million dollars I would tell anyone ,cause though i have people who share my blood traits i have very few family members.
king
But being that Im currently a BROKE NOBODY, I think Id be cool with being a BROKE SOMEBODY rather than the former.
At least then I could go on Celebrity Rehab with DMX or Little Wayne or some other Dopefiend nigga who had a MTV Cribs type lifestyle. Man fuck this little apartment and this raggedy ass Jeep. Even a Broke Somebody still has alot of nice shit left over from his 5 minutes of fame.
When you become a Star it changes your whole life forever. And theres nothing in the world that can compare to Super Stardom.
What you want me to say,
Say I’m destined for fame, well I am very afraid.
Do you know what fame is?
If you did, you wouldn’t want to be famous
Everybody finger, point in your direction
Everybody seems to misread every sentence.
Better or worse, the center of attention
Gift and a curse, the center of attention”
WaleCenter of AttentionI’ll take the money.
“chasing that stardom would turn you into a maniac,
all the way in Hollywood and I can’t even act,
they pull their cameras out and God damn he snapped,
I used to want this thing forever y’all can have it back,”
real rap!
“The one thing we all adore, something worth dying for. Nothing but pain, stuck in this game, searching for fortune and fame”……
somebody once told me that on ya tombstone, it will be your name, your date of birth, a hyphen, and date of death. I’m trying to make that dash as fat as possible…
hands down
