B.E.T. Upset Over The Drake Performance: Drake Apologizes
by on July 3rd, 2009
The same channel that has exposed African American viewers to programming gems such as; Hell Date, BET Uncut, and a bevy of late night televangalist selling holy water, and towels with the Holy spirit, has decided to suddenly grow some morals. Almost a week after the awards have concluded B.E.T. has expressed some distaste and remorse over the last performance at the awards, done by Drake, Lil Wayne, and Young Money Records.
For those who did not watch the award, the part that was most disturbing to BET executives was the performance of Best I Ever Had, and Every Girl, while there were several thirteen year old girls including Lil Wayne's daughter on the stage during these two sexually charged songs.
There was a large out cry of complaints after the awards pertaining to the performance, so much so that BET responded by releasing a statement. “BET Networks deeply regrets the performance by Young Money at the BET AWARDS ’09 featuring Lil Wayne, Drake, Gudda Gudda and Mack Maine”. According to one of the networks representatives, "Elements of the performance were unplanned and should not have happened."
The performance was so controversial to some; that well known activist and filmmaker Byron Hurt sent an open letter directly to the President and CEO of BET, with his feelings regarding the incident saying; “In a culture where one out of four girls and women are either raped or sexually assaulted - and where manipulative men routinely traffic vulnerable women into the sex industry - it is not okay that BET owes its entire audience particularly girls and women around the world an apology for its failure to intervene allowed this to happen, ”
Drake also issued an apologized while speaking with Complex he said; "That...was a terrible idea that I'll never do to myself again. But I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of Mike, the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes. I don't think it called for us to perform "Every Girl" and "Always Strapped," and I think it was an award show filled with tributes and music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-n-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne's daughters and her friends coming out on stage it was just timed very poorly and it definitely wasn't planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is. I believe in Wayne and myself and it's nothing we can't bounce back from. To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn't intended to offend anybody."
An edited version of the show will re-air on Monday July 6.

and Wayne has issues for letting his daughter of 13 years of age come on stage with her friends for songs with that kind of sexual content.
Fu** BET
LOL,,……You a funny nigga……How you get trashed 22 times….lol (and counting)
BET Is Crazy, Drake Shouldn’t Have Apologized In My Opinion, They Gave People What They Want To See, BET Says Their Performance With The Songs Was Unsuitable For Kids That Watch Bet, But This Is A Network That Constantly Brings Out College Hill And Every First Episode And So One They Play Truth or Dare When You Think They Would Actually Make It About College,
With Some Of The Shows That Constantly Make Us Blacks Look Ignorant, They Have The Nerve To Say Its Drake’s Fault, Did They Complain About Jamie Foxx Complementing Drake, This Is A Bunch Of Bull, Drake’s Leg Was Injured- Why Did They Still Let Him Perform, They Coudve Let Him Present An Award With A Scheme .
And At Least Wayne Put His Daughter In Stage, Cuz Some Rappers Dont Even Take Their Children To Awards Shows Not Even The Damn Red Carpet, That Could’ve Been A Way Of Showing That He Like His Daughter Having Fun With Her Friends, They Just Had Fun,
And If The Song Was Offensive Then Why Did They Let Them Perform It, So That They Can Critize Lil Wayne, BUUUUUULLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTT!!!
BET- What The Hell Is Wrong
at the end of the day the apology means something to B.E.T maybe to some of ya’ll who cares. it’s B.E.T fault that’s like sayin lets put Luke to perform they know what luke sings about.
(See where im goin with this?)
so fuck all this, get money.
