After  being diagnosed with cancer, and pushing back the release of their album. Adam Yauch, one of the members of hip hops most notorious groups "The Beastie Boys" reached out to fans in an email to update them on his status, and recovery process.

In what had to be a very difficult past couple of months, the rapper proclaims in the email that he is "healthy, strong, and hopeful" that he has beaten the cancer that he was diagnosed with.

"I'm feeling healthy, strong and hopeful that I've beaten this thing, but of course time will tell, I'm taking Tibetan medicine and at the recommendation of the Tibetan doctors I've been eating a vegan/organic diet, surprisingly enough that was harder to do in India than it is now that I'm back home."

In Tibetan medicine, it is beleived that all suffering (and therefore all illness) results from ignorance. "It acknowledged how health and illness resulted both from the relationship between the mind and the body and people's connectedness to the natural world and sense of spirituality".

The rapper also discussed his groups new album, which was originally due to be released in  early September, but was postponed after he revealed he had cancer. Yauch said that they did not set a new release date, but at the moment their hopes was that the album titled "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1" would come out in the first half of 2010.

Yauch who had a tumor removed from his left parotid gland, was diagnosed with cancer this past July.
