Haven't been around much this week--told ya'll I was on my lazy shit. Anyways, I'm back to quench your blogging thirst with some quick bits from around the net. Nothing mind blowing but mildly entertaining. Oh and shout out to Charles Hamilton for confirming that he in fact is not mentally retarded. He emailed us and let us know he's just pretending or something like that..so more power to you sir, more power to you.
Anyways, some of our "Around The Net" items today come from...US! I was complaining about the art of story telling dying in hip hop and completely missed out on Royce Da 5'9's latest track "Taxi Driver"...hell I'm sure I'm not the only one that missed out on it since it only received about 30 comments. Folks, this track is a masterpiece--at a first listen, it doesn't immediately grab you because of the beat, but give it a chance and listen to the lyrics. Amazing concept, amazingly executed. Check it out.
Next up, we have Joe Budden's latest series of releases entitled "Who" parts 1 and 2. Judging by the way the second ended, we can expect a part 3 soon.
Listen to the tracks, don't just skim through em. If only Budden would stop trying to make another club hit and just keep the mood music coming.
Moving on, for videogame fans, a teaser trailer for Max Payne was released today and it looks like its going to be great. Luda co-stars alongside Mark Wahlberg as Jim Bravura, Max's boss and former deputy chief of police. You can check out the kick ass trailer here.
Finally, Busta Rhymes is looking to collabo with Amy Winehouse on a track, so we might see Amy on yet another hip hop/soul collabo this year.
"Her music is incredible. I am definitely a fan" said Busta in a recent interview.
"There are a lot of artists I'd like to work with, but I don't want to work with them because of their names, I want to work with them because I know what we'd do together would be something special."
Hopefully Amy can pull herself together--as well as her pants. (Don't click if you just ate...seriously..you've been warned.)
