In an interview with MTV news, 50 spoke about how he has not been able to see his son, 11 year old son Marquis, because of the intense custody battle between he and his baby's mother, Shaniqua Tompkins.
The two of them had been at odds for a while, but things seem to hit a new level of volatile after the rapper's Long Island mansion, and also home of Shaniqua and Marquis burned down in May. Before the dust ever settled on the fire, Tompkins wasted no time blaming 50 for the fire and questioning his role as a proper father figure to his son that took their court disputes to another level.
Despite the highly publicized court dispute with Ms. Tompkins, the only thing that seems to be troubling to 50 is the inability to see his child.
“I’m not going through a custody battle; just a transition, I’d like to be able to just see my baby."
“In the summertime, for the first two years I was successful, my son has traveled with us on those tours. He was on the Rock the Mic Tour, he was on the Anger Management Tour. This summer, when he’s free, it’s, like, no communication. It’s tough.”
Since the fire Tompkins has taken out a restraining order against him. It stipulates that he must stay away from Tompkins when she is out in public, and can only pick up his son from a curb side distance.
50 also spoke about the effects that the deteriorated relationship with his sons mother may have caused his son.
“My relationship with my son is changing because he and his mom
aren’t friends anymore. There’s different channels I have to
go through. He has lawyers appointed to him through the court. So I
have to talk to his lawyer to get things situated for me to actually
get him.”
There is no set date for the next time 50 and Tompkins will face off in court again over custody of Marquis.

Hopefully you’ll take your time and take the time to actually get to know a woman BEFORE you marry her. Not all females are bad, its just the bad ones are louder than the rest of us.
Just like you said….if for years your girl told you she loved you, told you that you all would be together forever, & that she’d take care of you, you’d expect her to be telling the truth. Then one day she gets a break, is discovered, and starts making a lot of money. At first everything is cool because she’s doing what she said. But, after awhile you notice she’s staying away from the house more….she tells you it for work. Then you start hearing rumors about her being with other men in her industry. All of sudden you can do nothing right and eventually, she’s like I want out….goodbye, have a nice life. When a woman is in this situation, she feels scorned and more often than not, goes about trying to hurt the man via his wallet as much as he’s hurt her emotionally.

You don’t think a woman who has been with you for years, keeping the house clean, cooking for you, and having sex with you deserves nothing if you all break up? Undoubtedly, she was always kicking in on the bills & whatever else when she was needed. To say should she get nothing & get kicked to the sidelines is unfair. If she isn’t your wife or you all have no kids, then she messed herself up because legally she isn’t entitled to anything. But, if you married her or she has a kid by you and you try to kick her to the curb on some b.s., you’re going to pay for it.
